About Us

We provide University-wide education, support, and leadership ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines on issues relating to Titles VI, VII, and IX; the Americans with Disabilities Act; and youth protection.

Our Vision and Role

West Virginia University strives to foster a welcoming, supportive environment for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Our work includes:

  • Developing programming focused on Titles VI, VII and IX; the Americans with Disabilities Act; and youth protection
  • Developing advocates through training, presentations, and facilitated dialogues
  • Educating about the prevention of sexual violence, power-based personal violence, and harassment
  • Supporting campus and community partners in complying various federal, state, and institutional laws and policies 
  • Collaborating with others on campus to understand campus climate, track changes based on our interventions, and develop more effective outreach
  • Work with units hosting youth programming to develop guidelines, documents, and trainings to enhance youth protection
  • Providing resources to protect the civil rights of each individual
